Challenge # 34 Paper Piecing

Challenge # 34 at A Spoon Full of Sugar is paper piecing. Paper piecing is when you stamp an image, and then stamp it again on patterned paper, cut out parts of the image on the patterned paper and paste it on top of the other image. For this challenge, I paper pieced the dress, and all the bags.
I bought this stamp set over a year ago, and this is the first chance I've had to use it. Sometimes I think I own too many stamp sets!!
Stamps: Hanna stamps - But I need it clear stamp set.
Inks: Versafine black, SU basic black, SU creamy caramel
Papers: Georgia Pacific cs, Bazill cs, MME - Just Dreamy stack
Accessories: Brad, prima flower, lace from stash

Sorry I was away so long, last weekend me, my husband and my best friend, went to Watrous, SK - to the spa. If you would like to see exactly where we were, here is the link. It was absolutely awesome!! The water was so warm!! And I love that you float with no effort at all in the water! If you are close to the area...then I recommend that you check it out! The prices are reasonable, the food is amazing, and you can relax and let your troubles float away! The mineral water also has alot of healing properties!
Is anyone up to a trip to the spa?? My bags are still packed and waiting!!

Seriously now, head on over to A Spoonful of Sugar for our newest challenge. Also make sure you check out the design team cards....cause they are amazing! (Almost as amazing as Watrous...tee hee...just kidding)

Have a great day!

UGGG!

I just wanted to let you all know that I have turned on my comment moderation for a while. I am getting spammed like crazy the last couple of days, so I thought this would be easier. I hate that darn comment verification, so I am going to try and stay away from that for now!!

Hope you have a great day, I am off to work now!!

My MIL and Michelle's blog candy

Hello again!!
I thought I should let you all know how my Mother In Law is doing!! She came out of surgery around noon today. They told her that the bone in her elbow had shattered and there were alot of pieces of it in her arm. All the pieces have been removed, and apparently you don't need to have that bone. She doesn't even have a cast!! She is just wrapped with a tensor bandage. They did keep her in the hospital again today though...I guess they are worried about how much pain she is going to be in when the freezing comes out!!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes!! I sure am glad that everything is going to be OK!!

And....
Michelle has some amazing blog candy on her blog right now too! She even has some stamps from Alota Rubber stamps that I would love to have....especially the heart chocolate box....now if only it was enough to have that box, and I wouldn't need the chocolate!!
Go check out her blog too...cause it's awesome!! Click here for the link!!

Have a great day!

High Hopes Challenge

Wowzers...I didn't even realize that I haven't posted since Dec. 20th. Christmas was just so busy this year...and then when I came back, I got the flu. This is the first chance I've had to post all week. Hopefully I will be back to posting more regularly now!!

This week I decided to make a card for the High Hopes Challenge. The challenge was to use torn paper on your card. I decided to tear a frame around my image...was hoping it would look a little like a picture frame, but I'm not sure if it worked out that way.
Stamps: High Hopes - Lenny's love me nots, Hero Arts Anytime Messages
Inks: Memento, SU Creamy Caramel, SU Soft Sky, SU Certainly Celery, copics, prismacolor pencils and OMS and twinkling h20's.
Paper: Georgia Pacific cs, bazill cs, Basic Grey euphoria dp
Accessories: brads and lace from stash

Go and check out the High Hopes Challenge this week, the cards are amazing!! And be sure to try out this fun challenge!!

I just found out my Mother-in-law slipped on some ice today and broke her arm...or more specifically her elbow. She has to see a surgeon in Regina Tomorrow. I'm hoping that it's not too bad of a break, or she is going to need surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts for me!!

I hope you all have a great night, and I will be back on Tuesday with my Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge card!!

Another Magnolia Christmas Card

This time of year, it sure feels like the crunch is on, and I don't know about you, but I don't ever feel like there is enough time to get everything done that I want to. I am so behind on my Christmas cards this year, that I'm pretty sure I am going to keep making them into Jan. and Feb., so I am ready for next year. lol...
This card is made with another fabulous Magnolia image. I just love all magnolia images, they are absolutely the best. I used alot of ink for distressing, and I got the snowflake from my LSS and the smaller snowflake is a punch from Martha Stewart.

I'm not sure if I will be posting again before Christmas. I suppose if I get another card done, then maybe, but I have my husband's christmas party on Monday, and then Wednesday is already Christmas Eve. We are heading down to our parents houses on Thursday and won't be home till Sunday night.

Just in case I am not back before Christmas, I wish everyone of you, a Very Merry Christmas, and I hope you all get to spend time with your loved ones!!

Magnolia Christmas

Hi everyone,

I am just on my way to work this morning, but wanted to leave you with another one of my holiday cards.
This card was made with 3 different Magnolia images, the tilda, the bench and the holly. Aren't they awesome. I colored them using my copics and prismas. Thanks for the hints Mom!! I was having trouble with my copics, and she suggested sometimes that I could go over them with my prismas...and it works great!!

Well, I have to get off to work, I will talk to you all soon. Today is my first day back in the Admin. office....I can't be late!!!

Season's Greetings to you and yours!! And thanks for the amazing comments and wonderful christmas cards that I am starting to receive!!!

Christmas Reindeer

Would you like to know what the biggest pain in the a#$ is? Never knowing when you are going to have internet!
I have been phoning Sasktel (my internet provider) because I can never seem to get on the internet. Sometimes I have to wait a couple hours, sometimes all night...and the last week or two has been the absolute worst! I was advised to go into Estevan to pick up a new modem...which I did....and told that then I would have no problem. So I brought the new modem home..and then STILL couldn't get on the internet. What a pain!!
So after talking to Sasktel again last night...they told me that there is alot of noise on the line, and I am going to have to wait for a tech to come out. The tech should be able to replace my phone lines, and hopefully this won't happen anymore. Unfortunately until they come out....I don't know how much I will be on the internet. I am getting more and more frustrated every day!!

The good news is...I am going to Melville in the Morning to see my Mom and Dad, so I just wont be on the internet for a few days anyways!! And I get to see my family....Yay!!

I do have 1 card for you today. It was actually a pretty fast card to make. What took the longest was the coloring of the image. Hope you like it!!
The stamp is called Merry Christmas Sled by stampabilities, it was colored with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. Ribbon and dp is from my stash. I cut the scallops with my old fashioned scalloped scizzors. I find that I don't have much use for scalloped scizzors anymore, since I got my nesties!! I love them!!

I should be back on Tuesday with my Spoon Full of Sugar card. Until then....hope you and your family have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!!
