Angel birthday

I am at my Mom's visiting right now, but I had made this card before I left, so I thought I could quickly upload it, and then go and spend some more time with my Mom!!

This is my first card that I have made using copic markers. I love all the beautiful colors that copics come in, but it takes lots of practice to get the hang of them. Blending sure is not as easy as it is with Prismacolor pencils!!

The rumor is that the perfect ink for stamping images that you are going to be coloring with copics is....Memento black ink. I looked at my LSS because I wanted to get started so badly, and all they had was the Memento in Rich cocoa - so I bought it anyways. I think that it actually makes my image look softer....so I love it!!

The main image on my card is done with a wonderful Whiff of Joy stamp made by Elisabeth Bell.
I am a huge fan of Elisabeth Bell's amazing images..and I just found out that I won a beautiful print from Elisabeth's blog...I'm so excited, I can't wait to see it!!

Below are the details on this card...
Stamps: Whiff of Joy - Melinda Helping Angel, Hero Arts clear set
Inks: Memento rich cocoa, Distress Ink in brown, Copics
Paper: Bazill cs, georgia pacific cs, So Dreamy dp, unknown dp
Accessories: prima flowers, unknown brads, may arts ribbon

Now back to cardmaking with Mom....
I will be back to comment on some cards when I get back on Sunday!!
I hope you all have a fun and crafty weekend!!

Challenge #18 and my Whiff of Joy Entry

I made this card for 2 purposes.... first the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #18. I just love being on their design team, they really keep me inspired, with all of the amazing cards and ideas!! Make sure that you check out the site - here's the link!!
My second purpose for this card is to enter it into the Whiff of Joy guest designer call. If you want to be a guest designer for Whiff of Joy stamps ~ now is your chance. The design team call is open till Sept 26. Go and take a look as Katharina's wonderful website for all the details!!
This card was made using Katharina's sketch #21 - her sketches are wonderful and I hope to do more of them in the future!!
Stamps: Whiff of Joy - Melinda reading book, hero arts - birthday messages
Inks: Versafine black, SU blue bayou, prismacolor pencils and OMS
Paper: Georgia pacific cs, bazzill cs, kaiser scrapbook dp (from my LSS)
Accessories: Prima flowers, sparkle brads, glitter glue, charms, may arts ribbon

Wish me luck on the Guest DT call...I'm gonna need it, I went and checked out my competition, and they are absolutely fantastic!! Oh well, you can't get anywhere if you don't try!!
Hope you have an amazing day!

I am heading to Melville on Wednesday, to spend some time with my Mom (Artfully Ila), and we are going to work on cards....yipee!!

I've been tagged....

I've know I've been tagged a few times lately, unfortunately, I thought I would post the tags later, and I seem to have misplaced quite a few of them...:(

The first tag that I do know about is from Michelle at Mommy Time , Eulanda at Cards, Cards and More Cards and Jill at Jill's Cards (Jill actually tagged me at the beginning of August - sorry it took me so long to put this up Jill). These ladies have amazing blogs!! You really should run and take a look!!

The rules to this game of tag is...

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

I think I have told everyone most of the weird facts about me on the last game of tag, but I will try to think of 7 more!!

1. I am afraid of bugs. My husband says I am unusually afraid. I know I am unusually afraid of stinging bugs like wasps, bee's and horsefly's. I have alot of allergies, and at one time my Doctor told me that I might be allergic to these bugs, so I am not taking any chances. I've had to take my husband to the hospital 2 or 3 times because he has gotten stung by a wasp and it's blown up.
2. I like to stay home all the time. I don't get bored at home, there is always so much to do. My husband doesn't understand because he is such a social person, but I would rather just stay at home and really have to push myself to leave the house. Usually when I do go out I have a great time, so I really don't understand why I have the problem.
3. I have heel spurs on my feet. Heel spurs are so painful because there are bones that stick out of the bones on your heels and make it just torture to walk around. I am so excited because I am going to see a podiatrist tomorrow. Hopefully I will get some insoles made, and that will help my problem.
4. I am a very indecisive person. What I like to do is give people different choices and let them make their own decision. If you wait for me to make a decision, I will drive you crazy.
5. I am very close to my family, but have trouble spending too much time with my sisters. I love them to death, but we don't seem to have the patience to deal with each other. Sometimes there is even yelling, pinching and hitting.
6. I am a TV junkie!! I am so excited about all the new shows that are starting. As of right now, I watch gossip girl, one tree hill, 90210, privledged, grey's anatomy, ghost whisperer, how I met your mother, samantha who, smallville, private practice, and more. It's a wonder I have any time for cardmaking, and I am going to have to give up some of it in the next little while, if I want to lose some weight. I justify all of this tv by sitting in my craft room and pretending I am cardmaking.
7. My husband has trouble sticking to 1 job. In the first year that we were married he had 6 0r 7 jobs. We have lived in Estevan for not even 2 years, and he just quit his second job and is starting on his third. I wonder how long this one will last!!

I got this wonderful award from Nikki over at Bunny-Zoe's Blog. I'm sure that everyone knows about her amazing blog, but just in case you don't here is the link.

There are so many amazing blogs out there, so it's so hard to pass on this award, because I want to give it to everyone!!

I am going to pass the tag and this wonderful award on to:

Kristine - Cafe Ink

Lim - The voices in my head

Annie - Ink "n" rubba

Charly - Charly's Crazy Corner

Ila - Artfully Ila

Michelle - Mommy Time (Michelle tagged me, so just the award is being passed on to her)

Jo - Only Joking

Eulanda - Cards, Cards and more Cards (Eulanda tagged me, so just the award is being passed on to her)

Please go and check out all of these blogs, they are fantastic!!

Whiff of Joy

I just got my Guardian Angel stamps last week, from Whiff of Joy. They were so fast with my order, I was very impressed. If you like this image as much as I do, go and check out the store here!!
This is the first time I've had a chance to play with them. When I first saw this image, the first thing I thought of was that she could be reading a fairytale, and then this sentiment could go with it!
Stamps: Whiff of Joy - Guardian Angel Colection - Melinda reading book, SU - full of life
Ink: Versafine Black, SU Regal Rose and Perfect Plum, colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS
Paper: Georgia Pacific cs, Bazzill cs, DCVW the glitter stack and unknown dp
Accessories: May Arts ribbon, brads, prima flowers

I will be back on Tuesday with my card for A Spoon Full of Sugar. See you then!

Quick Post

First of all, I want to thank all of you who have congratulated me on my new position. I can't wait to really get started!! Yay!!

This is going to be a really quick and to the point post, because my hubby is snoring beside me, and it's driving me nuts, and also making me really tired!!

This card is a matchbox card....Isn't that the best thing to do when you score the paper in the wrong spot?? I can't just waste the paper...lol!!

The image is from Sugar Nellie sold at Funky Kits..here's the link!!
I put a cappuccino in the card and am going to decorate the top of the inside when I give it out!
If you have any questions on this, email me and I will do my best to give you a hand.
And guess what.....
I got a shipment of Copic Markers today. I am going to make myself a chart so I can see the different colors that I have. And then hopefully I will be able to start using them. It would be so much easier if I had the right ink. (I need something that doesn't smudge!!) I am hoping that I can find a good ink at Michaels in Regina next week!!
Good night everyone!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge # 17

Good Morning!!

This week on the A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Blog, the challenge is Christmas. Please hop on over there to go and take a look because the talent of the other DT's is amazing. Also, don't forget to participate in the challenge, there could be a stamp in it for you, if you win!!

And girls....I just want you to know how blown away I am, by the number of people who participated in the last challenge!! There were over 120 comments!!!!!!
That is just so amazing! All of you deserve a big pat on the back!!

For my card I used a wonderful stamp from High Hopes. I just love most of High Hopes images ~ because they are all so adorable! Here is the link to go and check them out!
Stamps: High Hopes - My Best for him, Clearly Wordsworth Carolers, Autumn Leaves winter wonders.
Ink: Versafine black, SU creamy caramel and close to cocoa, Image is colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS
Paper: Georgia Pacific cardstock, imagine that textured cardstock, designer papers from walmart (don't remember what kind..sorry)
Accessories: May arts ribbon

Well I am off to work at the Administration office today. This could be my last day in that department, then I will be off to be Hardware Manager at the Bulk/Agro....I'm quite nervous an excited all at the same time!

In case you guys were wondering, girls night out was fun! We had some drinks, and an ok meal (unfortunately not a wonderful meal...), then we got to see a really good comedian. He was kind of crude, but really, really funny. I was kind of embarrased when he was singing a song, and he came up to me and touched(or should I say caressed...lol) my hair, and then he sniffed his hand. I'm pretty sure my face was the pinkest item in the room!!

Hope you all have a great week!!

Thank you monkeys...

Oh my goodness, I must really be in a hurry, I almost posted these cards all by themselves, without any details or stories or anything. Sometimes I think a few posts like that might be ok, after all, sometimes when we are in a hurry we don't take the time to read all about the card..do we?

I picked up this cute image at Hobby Lobby in Minot for 1/2 price a couple of weeks ago. Aren't we always looking for a thank you card? Now I have the image and sentiment all in one stamp...I think that's fantastic!!
Card details:

Stamp: Stampendous Changito Thank U

Papers: Imagine that textured cs, Bazzill cs, georgia pacific cs, K&C dp, My Minds Eye - just dreamy dp

Ink: Versafine black

Accessories: may arts ribbon, buttons, brads, prima flowers

I am going to a Girls Night Out put on by the Kinettes tonight. It promises to be a great time with a catered meal and a comedian. I just wish I hadn't gotten all these wonderful stamps, because now I don't want to go!! Oh well, there will be time for creating tomorrow!!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Lots to talk about!

First of all, I want to show you how lucky I have been the last couple of weeks. I am just horrible getting all my posts up, I always seem to be behind!!

Today, I went to the mail, and was super excited to see my large package from Lim.
If you haven't checked out Lim's blog...what are you waiting for?? Her blog is amazing, I love her cards, they have so many layers, and are always so well done. Here's the link - go look for yourself!!
Look at all this awesome stuff she sent me. She also sent me a book with alot of images on watercolor paper for me to use!! I am so excited about all of it!! Thank you sooo much Lim!!
This next card I received about a week ago, from a blogging friend that I have had almost since I started blogging. She is an absolute sweethart, and always has kind words for me on my blog, and her cards are absolutely amazing too! Her name is Kristine and here's the link to her wonderful blog!!

Kristine also sent me some wonderful images that I can use!! I love getting images, it's better then X-mas!!
This next card I received probably about a month ago (I hate to admit I am so behind on my posting), from Kristine also. Kristine, being the sweet person that she is, sent this card and some images to her top 10 blog commenters. That must have taken her forever! Isn't the card sweet? If you want to see more of her wonderful creations, be sure to go and check out her blog!!
Thanks again Ladies....you have made my day!
I am sure I also have a card to post today, but I can't remember which card I have that isn't posted, so I am going to check my cards and blog, and I will be back right away.
Another piece of happy mail that I received yesterday, is the stamps I ordered from Whiff of Joy. I ordered all 4 of the guardian angel collection. I can't wait to get started creating, hopefully I will get some time tomorrow!!

Another thinking of you card!

Hello everyone,

Do any of you watch Big Brother? If you do, who do you want to win. There are 4 people left, 3 guys and 1 girl. I really want Dan to win!! I think Dan has really played the game, he has used strategy and has done everything he can to get to the end. I think he really deserves it!!

And now, for the card....
I have had my stamp club stamps for a couple of months now, and this is the first image I have used. That's totally wrong, isn't it!! lol...
Hopefully I will start to have more time, and actually use the stamp club stamps, especially since I should have a new one heading my way in a couple of weeks! Can't wait!
I've made this card so long ago, that I don't even remember some of the products I've used. I do know the pink and blue dpaper is from Love Elise. If you have any questions about anything I have used here, be sure and let me know. I love to see all of your comments and answer questions! As always my coloring has been done with prismacolor pencils and OMS.

I am thinking about investing in some Copic markers. How do you all like your copics?? Are they worth the money? If you have any comments for me, I would love to hear them. You can email me at stampin_angel@yahoo.ca
Also the markers that I can get in Canada are the copic ciao? Do you really think there is much difference between the ciao and the sketch markers, if I am not planning on using the airbrush system?
Any links to great tutorials would be a help too! Thanks everyone!!

I will be back Tuesday with my spoon full of sugar card! Have a great day!

Challenge # 15

Challenge # 15 at A Spoon Full of Sugar is to make anything BUT a card. I am so looking forward to seeing what everyone will be making this week, because this challenge was so much fun!!
I am pre-scheduling this post, because tomorrow promises to be a very long day for me!

What I decided to do for the challenge is a special day calendar. My problem is that life goes so fast, that I don't even think about the events that are coming up, until they are here. Then I either run around like a chicken with my head cut off, or I go and buy a store bought card.
I'm hoping that with this new book, that I will list everyone's birthdays and anniversaries, and then will check it at the beginning of the month, so I know who to make cards for!
Here's a close up of the images that I've colored for my book. They are supposed to show that my book is for weddings/anniversary's and birthdays.

The notebook is from target. I covered it with cardstock and designer paper from Stamping Up!'s Simply Scrappin' Friends & Flowers kit. This kit is now retired, and I am so excited to finally use some of it!!
The stamps are from Magnolia and are colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I used my cricut to cut out the letters, and a SU punch to punch out the tabs. The lettering on the tabs are stamps from paper salon.
This booklet is very flat and there are not alot of embellishments on it because I don't want them to fall off, and I want to have this book for a long time.
All of the flowers are from the same Stampin' Up! Scrappin' kit.
I found this book so much fun and so easy to do. I hope you all will try something this week too!
And remember you still have till Friday to make a sketch for my blog candy sketch challenge!!
Have a great week!!
