Valentine's Love

Good Morning to all my blog friends!

First of all, thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I have been trying to lose weight, but it seems to keep finding me....lol... I had done really great on the weight loss thing before Christmas, but ever since I have been struggling. I know it's all me and that blaming it on situations doesn't work, but sometimes it makes me feel better.

I am still down between 30 to 40 lbs from my original weight, so I guess I just need to jump back on before gaining it all back....right???

I didn't really post today to talk about that though, so to the cards we go!! I have been having some fun making Valentine's cards. I do some at home and then I joined a Stampin' Up! stamp club and have been making cards and projects with my wonderful demonstator, Pat!! I love that Pat comes up with the projects and once a month I just have to show up and make them. It's so great because I love all different kinds of cards, but find that sometimes mine are all the same. This gives me a different perspective and I get to have some fun with 8 wonderful ladies all at the same time!!

I will post pictures of my cards, and then hopefully later today get some pictures of the ones that were made with my demo.

Here's the first batch....

These first 3 cards are made with beautiful High Hopes images!! They even have a Valentine's blog challenge going on right now, so I would like to enter these in that challenge.

Only 2 of these next 3 cards are Valentine's cards, the other is for a wonderful friend. I have used the Stampin' Up! owl punch on 2 of them. I L-O-V-E that punch!! It is so cute! Used mostly retired SU paper, since I have so much of it. The sentiments are mostly rub-ons, that I picked up at my LSS.

I just realized that I can hear the birds singing outside my window. It makes me think of spring!! Have a great day, and thank you for all your comments!

Hello

Hello Everyone,

It has been a long long time since I have posted here. I've still been making a few cards, just not as many as I used too, and I have given a few of them away without taking pictures....*slaps hand*...

Anyways, I want to talk to you about this blog. I'm thinking about taking a new approach to my blogging, and hope you will stay around to visit and support me. Ya see....Over the last year or two I have had a couple of health scares. Don't worry....everything is OK - I've just had to add a couple of medications to my morning line up, but it makes me think...is this really what I want for the rest of my life? And if I don't do something now, what's going to happen in the future? When I moved to Estevan, I gained almost 100 lbs! It's time to do something - the time is now!!!

Not only does this weight take away any chance of me ever having a baby (which is another story...for another time), it also endangers my future health.

SO.........

I took a big step and joined Weight Watchers! Now I am only down 12 pounds so far, but it's a start.

I want my blog to be a place I can communicate. I will still post cards - but I am also going to post about my weight loss struggle and achievements.

I think that by writing it down for the world to see, might keep me more accountable for my actions, and hopefully I can understand where I went wrong last time, and not make those same mistakes.

If some of you want to leave my blog and stop following me now - I totally understand - it's not exactly what you signed up for eh??

I hope some of you will stick around and let me know how I'm doing. You can also give me a kick in the butt when I need it. Just be gentle...

As an added bonus, my hubby is trying to lose weight too. (he's not doing so well yet unfortunately, but it will come....he pretty much has no choice, I'm not cooking fatty foods anymore!!)

In the next few days I will get a starting picture so you can see what I look like now, and I will try to take pictures as I go along.

It was really hard for me to share this with you. I have this damn little voice in my head that keeps saying....what if you can't do it, what if you fall off, everyone will know now...
You know what though??? I have to try....that's all I can say right now.

So, wish me luck. I have a weigh in tomorrow!!!

Prayer request...

Hi Guys....

I know I've been totally neglecting my blog, and I apologize, but I have a huge favor to ask of all of you.

My wonderful sister and her common law husband just had a baby on Monday, her baby is experiencing some health problems and is getting seen by a specialist tomorrow.

I was lucky enough to see her yesterday before they rushed her to another hospital, and she is such a little angel.

Please join me in praying for baby Elisabeth. She can use all the well wishes that she can get!!

Hugs to all of you! And thank you so much!!

The last of my Christmas cards!

Hello Friends!!

Here are the last of my Christmas cards that I made this year! I know, pretty bad, eh....it's almost the end of January.
I bought these images online from All That Scraps. I love digital images! I love that when I order them....I get them just about instantly!! What a deal!!

I hope all of you are having as wonderful weather as we are having here in Sask. By 10 am this morning it was melting outside. Usually snow doesn't start melting until March!!
Well, I am off to bed. I was working on scrapbooking tonight, so hopefully I can get permission to post those pictures for you soon!!
Hugs,

Christmas cards...never posted

My grandma loves to send out homemade cards. Other years she has phoned my Mom and asked her to send some cards, so she can give them out to her friends and family.
Mom and I decided to beat Grandma to the punch this year, so when we went to see her in October, we took some cards and gave them to her for her birthday.
I took some quick pictures before I gave them to her. The lighting isn't very good, but I wanted to share my cards with you!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years!!
And I wish everyone of you the best in 2010!!
Hugs,

Late halloween cards!!

I know it's a couple of days past halloween, but this is the first chance I got to take some pictures. I wish I had more room and a brighter craft room, so picture taking would be easier. It always seems to be a big process so I don't take pics very often. Unfortunately that means that sometimes you have to wait to see the cards too! Sorry about that....I will try to get better!!

These first 2 cards were made using digital images from C.C. Designs which I bought from All That Scraps. I wish I could buy digital images from everyone. They are fantastic!! So easy to print off and use....no waiting for the stamps to come in the mail and cheaper too! Go and check it out! On the second card, I used Basic Grey Eerie paper and I use the same paper on the below card too!
I saw these amazing flowers on Inge's blog and just had to make them. She said that she got demo from StampARTic. Go and check out Inge's wonderful blog, and if you like the flowers, I've posted StampARTic's link too!! Image is from Motivet and is called Doraline riding a broom.

This last card has images from Magnolia halloween collection 2008 and Stampin' Up Batty for you! I'm not sure where I got the paper from, I think it was a fall stack I bought at Joann's last year.
I have some christmas cards that I took pictures of too, so hopefully I will get those edited and posted in the next couple of days.
Have a wonderful day...and thanks for the amazing comments everyone!!

Three of these card feature images from Magnolia, and the other is a Gorjuss girl image. If you have any questions on any of these cards, feel free to leave a comment in the comment section, or email me.

Thank you to all of you who leave me regular comments....You are the best!!

Another gorjuss birthday card!

I just love gorjuss girls!! They make the prettiest cards!!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since my last post again. Just don't have as much time as I used too. My life seems to revolve around my work right now.

For this card I used a gorjuss girl as the main image. The papers are from bazill and K&Company. Swirls are cut with a die and my cuttlebug. Also prima flowers, martha stewart punched leaves and greenery. And the dew drops are from Stamping Bella.

Have a great Monday! And thanks for the awesome comments!

My first Motivet card

Meet Shy Hilda. She is one of the new images from Motivet. Isn't she cute? I think she works well with so many sayings that I will have to make another card with her soon!!

While I was on holidays, I was able to spend some stamping time with my Mom, and all of the Motivet images were so cute, that I just had to stamp a couple when she wasn't looking!! lol!!

Stamps: Motivet - shy hilda, Hero arts - all occasion, Paper: Bazill cs, georgia pacific cs, MME playful posies, Ink: Memento black, copic markers, prismacolor pencils, twinkling h2o's, SU only orange, Accessories: prima flowers, may arts ribbon, glitter brad from collection, SU silver cord. I did lots of distressing with my SU distressing tool -love that tool!!

Now, I am off to go and work in my craft room. Really would love to make a card today, but I'm not sure how long I will make it, because I got together with a great friend last night, and we had a True Blood marathon till 5 am!! It was so much fun!!

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the great comments!!

Just because

Hello friends!

Today I have a card that I made a couple of weeks ago. I just love this image and wish I had more time to make cards sometimes!! Sure would be use to use every image that I own at least once, wouldn't it??

Sorry for being the slowest poster ever.... I wish there were more hours in a day sometimes.

I think I colored this image with copics as the base and then prismacolor pencils. I've been looking at some wonderful copic tutorials lately, but really like the depth I get with this technique, plus every image I have colored with only copics, has looked kind of scary!!

Have a wonderful weekend!! And thanks for the amazing comments. You guys are the best!!
