Retirement card!

Hello everyone.

A fellow co-worker just retired last week. I was asked to make a card for her. She is one awesome person and a very classy lady! I was trying to make a card that fit her personality. Wednesday we had a party for her, and I am happy to report, she really liked her card.

This card was actually made using Stampin' Up! stamps. I hardly ever use Stampin' Up! anymore. Now don't get me wrong, their products are amazing, BUT I am totally in love with alot of the newer stamps that are coming out....ie. Magnolia, Rachelle Anne Miller, and Hanglers!!

Stamps: SU reverse prints, SU riveting
Inks: embossing ink, SU chocolate chip
Paper: Bazzill Basics white and black cardstock, DCWV the old world stack
Accessories: brads, SU ribbon
Nestabilities and cuttlebug used for the sentiment.

Hope you like my card too, have a great day!

Tagged!

I got tagged by Charly at Charly's Crazy Corner. I love checking out her blog, especially since lately she has had up tons of Bella cards. Go and take a look, I'm sure you will love them!!
The rules state that I have to list 7 random things about myself, so here goes:
1. I work at Southern Plains Co-op in Estevan, SK, and am so excited that I am going to be starting a new position in less then 2 weeks. I am going from payroll manager to C-Store Manager Trainee, and then C-Store Manager after 16 weeks of training. It will be so exciting to manage my own store, but I worry about the amount of time that I will get to make cards and look at everyones blogs. You may lose me for a while, but I will be back!
2. I can gain and lose weight quite fast, but have never been able to keep of the weight. I am attempting to start another battle with the bulge, cause I hate the way I look right now so much that I won't even put up a current picture of me.
3. I hate carrots.....I know it's weird, but I do!!
4. I was angry with my husband for going away this weekend, when we were supposed to do work on our house, but secretly, I am really happy cause I can spend time on the computer without him complaining! (Just don't tell him!)
5. Everytime I make a card, I have to spend 20 minutes before I start cleaning up my huge mess. I don't even know where the mess comes from, I think I am an organized person, but some time during the cardmaking process I forget to put things away!!
6. I am so lucky to be able to tan really easily in the summer. I don't even have to go out and tan, and I will end up darker than the people who spend hours and hours out there each year. My only problem is that the first few times I am in the sun, I get a red itchy sun rash!!
7. I hate being around wasps and bees. A wasp came into my house on the weekend, when I was letting the dogs out, and I started shaking, because I am so afraid of getting stung. I have alot of allergies, and we think that I am allergic to wasp and bee stings. (Just to let you know, I did eventully kill the wasp, after freaking out for about 15 minutes. I sprayed him with creepy crawler, and then when he could hardly move, I pounded the crap right out of him with a fly swatter!)

Now I should be tagging more bloggers, so what I am going to do, is if you think you would like to answer 7 questions, then consider yourself tagged.

Awards!!

I am feeling like the luckiest girl in the world!! I can't believe that you ladies feel my cards are good enough for all these awards....(blushing:-o)

This first award I got from my Mom, Ila at Artfully Ila. I'm sure by now you all know about her great blog. It is absolutely amazing...and I am not just saying that because I'm her daughter. She has taught me everything I know!!

I am supposed to give this award to somebody now. I am going to give it to Nikki from Bunny-Zoe's blog. I think that Nikki's cards are amazing, she is one of the gals in charge of our Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Site, and I am always amazed by the speed that she comments on my blog and other blogs!

Now the next award, I received from Jill at Jill's Cards, and Debby at A Scrapjourney. Both these blogs are amazing, so I hope you will go and check them out!

The rules for this award are:

  1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
  2. Link the person you received the award from.
  3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
  4. Put links to those blogs on yours.
  5. Leave a comment on the blogs of the girls you've nominated.

The 7 great bloggers that I am going to nominate are:

Pictures of my dogs

Sorry it took me so long to get these pictures up....
This is Wynter and Harlee. Guess which one is which??
That's right, Wynter is the white dog, and we had a very tough time naming her, originally thought about calling her snow or my husbands favorite, black pearl...(I hated that name!!)
Wynter is 4 years old and Harlee just turned 8. When we got Wynter, everyone told us that we would be getting rid of her, because Harlee was very territorial and had been our only dog for over 4 years already. I have to admit that the first month, we did have a bit of trouble, but that's only because Wynter was looking at Harlee as her Mom or play friend, and Harlee wasn't sure what Wynter was, so she was having none of that.
After the first month, they became inseparable!! They play together, sleep together sometimes, fight over the silliest things, like food and treats. Wynter is so much faster, so she can usually get her treat and Harlee's treat, and then Harlee gets so mad at her!!

Hope you like my pics of my babies. They each have their own personalities, so they are so much fun to be with, and make our lives so full! We are so lucky that we have the best dogs in the world!!

Challenge # 5 - A Spoon Full of Sugar

Hi All,

Well I guess that when you get to see this post, you will know that I am back from holidays and workin' again :-(
Wish the holidays could have gone on for a few more weeks!! My family and I (minus my hubby...) went to Clear Lake, Manitoba for some relaxin' last week. All together there were 8 of us, and 3 dogs in a tiny 3 bedroom cabin. I have to admit, last year I was kind of sad that my whole family seemed to wait till I moved away, and then all got puppies, but now after spending almost a week with the 3 puppies, I sure am glad that I have my dogs. Harlee and Wynter are the most amazing dogs in the whole world....I might just post a couple of pics of my dogs later this week!!

Now on to the card......

This card is for the fifth challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar. The challenge this week it to incorporate checks into your card. I found this challenge a hard one, because I don't have alot of paper with checks around. However when checking out my stash, I found alot more then I thought I had!

Challenge #3

Good Morning,
I am just on my way to work, but wanted to get my challenge #3 card for "A Spoon Full of Sugar" up on my blog. Make sure that you go and take a look at this challenge, because everyone did something amazing with it!! I just can't believe the great cards that this team comes out with every week.

You are going to have to wait for the details though, I am totally exausted from this long weekend. I got to go to a Co-op Expo. It was amazing. I saw some people that I haven't seen in a long time. Got to see the BARENAKED LADIES live in concert too!!! It rocked!!
And I got some amazing gifts and listened to some inspirational speakers! Absolutely loved every minute of it!!
Just got back last night...haven't even unpacked yet...I'm just too tired!!
I hope you like my card, and the details will be up soon!
Have a great day!

Edited to add: Sorry guys, I had the best intentions to get back to this post, but time got away from me again. I am not going to give you the details on this card, so if you have any questions, ask away. I do want to let you know where I got the fabulous designer paper from....It is from Prima Marketing Inc and is called "The Breathe Paper Collection" - I picked it up at Michael's in Regina!! I don't usually find much at Michaels anymore, so this was way exciting!!

Look what I got!

Hi Everyone,
This is going to be a short post with no new cards today. I am heading in the morning to Saskatoon for something called Expo. It is where managers from different Co-op's go to see new advances in supplies and other items that we use to do our business. It is so exciting that I can't wait to go. I won't be back till Monday night, so unfortunately you won't be hearing from me till Tuesday.

Before I go and finish my packing, I wanted to show you what I got in the mail a couple of days ago. I'm sure you remember when I had a blog candy drawing, and a fellow blogger named Jill won my blog candy. Well Jill and I were talking, and she wanted my address to send me a thank you card for the blog candy that I was sending. So, I got this package in the mail the other day, and now I think that I also won blog candy!! That crazy girl...she totally spoiled me!! Thanks so much Jill...for everything. I can't wait to use these images. I was just complaining to some of the other girls on the DT for a spoon full of sugar, because I didn't have any sugar nellie stamps. Now I have lots of images to choose from!!
Well, I am exausted!! I get to drive down with the boss, sure hope I don't fall asleep!!
Have a great weekend!
